Every day in communities across Minnesota and North Dakota, LSS Senior Companion volunteers, age 55 and older, are sharing their time and talents — enhancing the lives of older adults to assist them in staying active, healthy, and remaining independent. By volunteering as a Senior Companion, you can make a positive difference by providing weekly visits that keep older adults feeling well — both physically and emotionally. Community First Services and Supports (CFSS) is an upcoming self-directed program that the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) is developing. CFSS will replace both personal care assistance (PCA) and Consumer Support Grant (CSG) services. DHS recently announced that CFSS will begin implementation starting October 1, 2024. PICS (Partners in Community Supports), a subsidiary of LSS, is here to support you as you transition to CFSS. PICS’ recent blog post answers several questions about CFSS: https://lnkd.in/gB-qdmwY

This primary won't include presidential candidates, as the presidential primary already took place in March. Remember to register to vote by July 23 to save time on Election Day. You can easily register online or quickly check your registration status: https://lnkd.in/d9wTjrR! If you're unable to vote in person on Election Day, you can vote by mail or cast your ballot early in person. Learn more about the various voting methods: https://lnkd.in/g9UFNC2J As a trusted nonprofit, LSS provides nonpartisan resources and education about voting rights for all eligible voters in our communities. We do not endorse or oppose any candidate or party. 501(c)(3) organizations may engage in elections and voter engagement if the activity remains nonpartisan.
