Artificial intelligence (AI) has a variety of applications in the food industry, including robotics, automated food preparation, food technology, and product development. The productivity and efficiency of procedures used in the production of food can be greatly increased by automation and AI, deploying "artificial eyes" where it's too expensive or impractical to have employees carry out repetitive tasks. Neurala VIA
Deep Learning Software
Manufacturers are facing unpredictable patterns in consumer demands, pressure to improve productivity and quality control while reducing waste and costs, and even greater challenges with workforce availability. Vision AI enables manufacturers to improve the quality inspection process beyond the capabilities of traditional machine vision. Neurala VIA software brings vision AI to the factory floor, without requiring an investment in new hardware, AI-trained personnel or having to send data off-site. Neurala VIA consists of two software programs, Inspector and Brain Builder, which can be installed on any computer with as little as a CPU (Intel 6th Generation or later). It allows for seamless integration on the factory floor: collecting images from GigE Vision cameras and providing outputs over an industrial network (currently supporting Modbus TCP communication) directly to the PLC controlling the applicable machine.

Deep Learning Revolutionizes Visual Inspection #manufacturing #AI We firmly live in the Age of AI, and manufacturing is at the forefront of this revolution. Visual inspections, once a manual and error-prone process, are being transformed by deep learning. This tech uses vast amounts of data, including video footage and pictures from production lines, to train AI models to detect defects, identify patterns, and make real-time decisions. Sometimes, it can be trained on-device (#edge), like in Neurala's software. A recent review by Nils Hütten highlights the growing body of research in this area: as AI adoption grows, so will the complexity of tasks these models can handle. Neurala's co-founder and #CTO Anatoli Gorchet talking about #AI at #automate2024. Living at the Edge: the era of AI, everywhere in the production floor: The manufacturing industry is undergoing a transformation driven by the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI). However, implementing AI in manufacturing presents a unique challenge: choosing between cloud-based AI and edge AI. Cloud AI has been the dominant approach in recent years in many domains outside the factory, involving training AI models on vast amounts of data stored in centralized cloud servers. While cloud AI offers scalability and accessibility, it faces limitations in industrial manufacturing settings, including latency issues, bandwidth constraints, security concerns, and cost considerations. Edge AI addresses these limitations by bringing AI processing closer to the data source, typically to a smart camera or the manufacturing equipment itself, with all processing performed inside the premises of the production facility. This approach offers several advantages, including reduced latency, bandwidth conservation, enhanced security, and cost reduction. Additionally, the emergence of new generative learning paradigms enables learning (not only inference) to occur at the compute Edge. This means that the AI can be directly configured by the operator directly on the production line, providing the necessary adaptability, efficiency, and on-device optimization. In this talk, Neurala will review real-world deployments that show how Edge AI has delivered improved quality control, process optimization, and real-time insights to the manufacturing floor across several industry segments and use cases at a cost that is affordable for every manufacturer. #ai #deeplearning #visualinspection #manufacturing #generativeai https://lnkd.in/ev4jwmEk
