Virginia Tech's packaging program offers undergraduate and graduate degrees related to a broad range of packaging areas.
About us
The Packaging Program at Virginia Tech has been serving the packaging and pallet industry since 1976. Our historical strength has been pallets and unit loads; however, our focus has been expanded to food and pharmaceutical packaging, packaging design and packaging business and marketing. We offer degrees at an undergraduate, M.S. and Ph.D. level. Our research and extension arm is the Center for Packaging and Unit Load design who provides research and contract testing services to the packaging industry.

I am excited to share this video from VT News with you all, which sheds some light on the project that I have been involved in for the past nine months. I am so grateful to be contributing to such a wonderful multidisciplinary project. My research is focused on improving the thermal stability of PHA through the application of novel inclusion complex technologies, with the goal of diversifying the range of potential applications of the bioplastic for the packaging sector. https://lnkd.in/efR2d9xg

Huge thank you to Dr. Eduardo Molina & Dr. Young Kim for the tour of the Virginia Tech Packaging Facility! Always an amazing time connecting with packaging professionals whether it be in industry or collegiate roles, and especially to see how different universities run their programs for undergraduate & graduate students. No matter where you are in the world, packaging is truly the best major with the best people! Looking forward to connecting again in the future. #Packaging #VirginiaTech #GoHokies 🧡📦

https://lnkd.in/g94N2hvg. Thank you for hosting our students! Hope to see you soon again!
This week, we had the pleasure of hosting a tour for the Department of Sustainable Biomaterials from Virginia Tech at our Headquarters in Winchester, Virginia. Monoflo and Virginia Tech — particularly the Packaging Program at Virginia Tech, the Center for Packaging and Unit Load Design, and the Department of Sustainable Biomaterials (SBIO @ Virginia Tech) — have a tremendous working relationship. Many of our most talented, driven, and tenured team members have come thought the Virginia Tech pipeline. Ben Waterman, Director of Business Development, led the group through our production facility as they witnessed Monoflo’s cutting-edge, fully-automated manufacturing processes in action. The tour also showcased our industry-leading suitability practices, including how we close the loop for customers by incorporating recycled resin from end-of-life products into the manufacture of new, superior-quality containers, trays, and pallets. Team Monoflo takes great pride in opening our doors to provide hands-on learning experiences for the next generation of American manufacturing! 🇺🇸
