Rainbow Health Minnesota is a diverse team of professionals united by a passion for health equity.
About us
In 2017, Rainbow Health Initiative and Minnesota AIDS Project announced we were joining forces to create an organization to lead the work to achieve health equity for diverse gender, sexual, and cultural communities. Rainbow Health helps people navigate healthcare systems by breaking down barriers, especially LGBTQ+ folks, those affected by HIV, and others facing barriers to equitable health care. We bring our purpose to life in two primary ways: - Directly serving and supporting the needs of people who need help, by providing compassionate care that breaks down barriers to better health. - Fighting for better health systems for those erased and excluded, by educating care providers, policymakers, and one another about how to be more just and inclusive.

When tireless advocates like Ash Tifa, our very own Legal Services Program Coordinator, and Annie Van Avery, Executive Director of Family Tree Clinic, get together with Noah Parrish, Gender Justice's Communications Director, to talk all things Gender-Affirming Care Act-related, it's easily a must-listen. Ash testified to the House and Senate this past legislative session to ensure that all insurance plans in Minnesota cover medically necessary gender-affirming care. Her work was instrumental in passing the Gender-Affirming Care Act this year and we couldn't be prouder of the impact this work has made on trans and non-binary people throughout the state.
What a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with Gender Justice and Rainbow Health to add depth and breadth in a conversation about what gender affirming healthcare looks like, why it is essential healthcare, and our experience at Family Tree Clinic leading work in MN following the declaration and laws ensuring that we are a sanctuary state for access to this care. Reducing health disparities, fostering whole person health, manifesting access to healing, joyful, person-centered care. https://lnkd.in/gVcamz3N

🚨 Fundraiser Alert 🚨 Too few Minnesotans know about or can afford PrEP. Costs range from $1,300 to $2,400 monthly, plus doctor visits and tests. While insurance covers PrEP, those without insurance face a hefty cost. As a result, thousands who would benefit from PrEP aren’t getting the life-saving care they need. At Rainbow Health, Minnesota’s first HIV/AIDS nonprofit organization, we provide FREE access to PrEP, including doctor visits and HIV/STI testing. Last year, we issued 1,985 prescriptions. Your donation will help us reach our goal of making PrEP accessible to all who need it and move us closer to a future free from HIV. Help us turn the tide against HIV: #RainbowHealth #EndHIV #PrEPForAll #SupportAndEmpower #HIVAwareness #HealthcareEquality #DonateNow #EndStigma #PrideMonth #PrideInMind #FreeAccessToPrEP #nonprofit #fundraiser #RainbowHealthFundraiser #Minnesota
