"We still enjoy the right to make our own reproductive decisions in Minnesota, at least for now," says Mitchell Hamline School of Law professor Laura Hermer. "But our rights will not be secure without the passage of something like the Equal Rights Amendment, which once again failed in the last legislative session."

NEW PODCAST EPISODE JUST DROPPED! "To ensure appropriate medical care, Idaho’s largest provider of emergency services had to airlift pregnant women out of the state roughly every other week, compared to once in all of the prior year." — Justice Elena Kagan. None of that would have been necessary had the Supreme Court permitted the lower court's injunction on Idaho's ban to go forward, which is the action that comes out of yesterday's decision (while the Court cynically delays until another election takes place.) On the podcast, Jess Braverman and Erin Maye Quade analyze yesterday's long-awaited ruling in the U.S. Supreme Court's second major abortion case since the fall of Roe. Stay informed and treat yourself to lively conversation while you're at it: listen and subscribe to The Gender Justice Brief, our award-winning podcast!

"People don't want to acknowledge intersex people exist. Because if they understand sex is a spectrum as well, then they would have to acknowledge there might be more than two genders." — Ly Baumgardt, with TIGERRS (Trans Intersex Gender-Expansive Revolutionary Resources & Services) 💚 🏳️⚧️ 💚
Yes, intersex people exist. A Twin Cities advocate is fighting for their rights.

"It’s all too easy to imagine this Supreme Court overruling Obergefell in a few years and citing Barrett’s decision in this case," says Slate's Mark Joseph Stern about the decision in last week's immigration case, Department of State v. Muñoz. "I think all three liberals are ringing this alarm so everyone can see that overturning marriage equality is very much on the table at this Supreme Court."
