About us

Renewvia Energy Corporation is a top 500 Global Solar Developer headquartered in the Atlanta, Ga. It designs, installs, owns and operates commercial and community solar power systems and provides a complete range of solar energy solutions including turnkey solar installation, integrated financing and solar consulting services. Since its founding in 2008, Renewvia has designed, installed, owned and operated over 80 megawatts (MW) of power across the United States, Pacific Islands, South America and sub-Saharan Africa. Projects range from equipping large industrial farms with up to 60 MW of renewable energy to constructing 2.5 MW distributed rooftop solar arrays for industrial facilities and 50 kilowatt (kW) systems for small commercial buildings, along with hybrid and standalone solar microgrids of varying size in remote, hard-to-reach communities. Currently the company is developing clean energy projects where the most expensive fuel source is burned to create power. We're excited to share a highlight from our recent collaboration with SteelFab, Inc., where a portion of their carbon credit retirement included Ember Grid Reduction Carbon Credits. These credits were generated by solar projects that are powering houses, NGOs, and businesses in #Chad and #Cameroon, operated by the pioneering utility solar developer, ZIZ Energie. 🌱 The power of this partnership lies in the impact. A report by Power Africa last year shed light on a concerning trend: typically, only 30% of the revenues from carbon asset sales in Africa are returned to the project developers and the communities they serve. However, through the Renewvia Environmental Equity Exchange, we've turned the tide in favor of those who are at the heart of renewable energy efforts. 💡 For ZIZ Energie, this meant an astounding 93% of the revenues from the sale of their carbon assets went straight back into their capable hands. This is not just funding; it's fuel for growth, innovation, and community empowerment. It’s proof that when we talk about sustainability, we must include financial equity as a cornerstone of our efforts. 🤝 Renewvia's collaboration with ZIZ Energie embodies our commitment to creating a fairer, more equitable carbon market. It reflects our belief that the lion’s share of the rewards of the carbon market should belong to those who contribute to a cleaner planet, not market middlemen. We’re proud to stand alongside ZIZ Energie, ensuring that their stellar work in renewable energy creates lasting value for their business and the communities they serve. #solarprogress #sdg7 #renewableenergy #renewableinvestment #cleanenergy #solarenergy #carboncredits #corporatedecarbonization #steelfabrication

We believe in the power of inclusivity and impact, a belief that was vividly illustrated in our latest carbon credit collaboration. As part of SteelFab, Inc.’s journey to carbon neutrality, we're proud to spotlight the critical role of Mini-Grid Carbon Credits, sourced from the heart of rural Africa. 🌱 These credits represent real-life change and sustainability, verified through a robust Clean Development Mechanism developed by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Among these, a shining example is a mini-grid located in Kalobeyei Refugee Settlement in Turkana, Kenya, operated by a refugee-owned enterprise, Okapi Green Energy. This impactful project is led by visionary founder Vasco Hamisi and is supported by the generous funding from UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency and Power Africa, whose contributions have been pivotal in bringing renewable energy solutions to underserved communities. 💡 Okapi Green Energy is a beacon of hope and enterprise, showing the world that meaningful impact can come from any size. Renewvia stands firm in our commitment to recognizing and validating the efforts of all renewable energy producers, big or small. By aiding them in generating additional revenue through the sale of high-impact carbon super-assets, we help uplift communities and foster sustainable growth. 🤝 This transaction is a testament to Renewvia's ethos of empowering those who make a difference, ensuring that every producer has access to the carbon market. We applaud Okapi Green Energy for their exemplary work and are honored to assist them and other small owner-operators in harnessing the value of their contributions to our planet. #solarprogress #sdg7 #renewableenergy #renewableinvestment #cleanenergy #carboncredits #SteelFab #steelfabrication #corporatedecarbonization #kenya #minigrids #ruralelectrification #energyaccess #offgridsolar #refugees

🌟 Local Innovation, Global Impact 🌟 At Renewvia, we are continually inspired by the power of local initiatives to drive significant global impact. A prime example of this is our partnership with Yelele, a remarkable mini-grid owned and operated by Francis Ngimusia, a visionary entrepreneur from Turkana, Kenya. 🌍 Under Francis' leadership, this cornerstone of community development and empowerment in Turkana has become more than an energy provider; it's a source of pride and progress for the local community. This impactful project is supported by the generous funding from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, AECF, KKCF - Kakuma Kalobeyei Challenge Fund, IFC - International Finance Corporation, an Agence Française de Développement, whose contributions have been pivotal in bringing renewable energy solutions to underserved communities. 🌱 As part of our recent transaction with SteelFab, Inc., we are thrilled to include Mini-Grid Carbon Credits (MCCs) generated by Yelele. These credits are certified through Renewvia's rigorous processes, adhering to international standards while supporting grassroots renewable energy projects. 💡 Francis’ dedication to sustainable energy solutions and community upliftment exemplifies the potential of local enterprises to contribute meaningfully to global sustainability goals. By integrating these projects into the broader carbon credit market, Renewvia helps ensure that local heroes like Francis receive the recognition and economic benefit they deserve. 🤝 We are proud to support Yelele and are committed to empowering similar initiatives across the globe. It's through partnerships like these that we can turn local action into worldwide impact, one community at a time. #solarprogress #sdg7 #renewableenergy #renewableinvestment #cleanenergy #carboncredits #SteelFab #steelfabrication #corporatedecarbonization #kenya #minigrids #ruralelectrification #energyaccess #offgridsolar

☀ Renewvia Keeps the Lights On at Educaid Academy During Nationwide Blackout 💡 We're thrilled to announce the successful completion of our latest solar installation at Educaid Academy, a dedicated institution striving to enhance educational opportunities for young people in a rural area of Kenya near Mombasa. Our team, including Tobias nyakiya, Paul Odhiambo, and Nicholas Selby, pictured here with some of the academy's staff and students, finalized the project just as the sun was setting. Then, in an extraordinary turn of events, as we commissioned the system, Kenya's national utility company reported a nationwide power outage. However, thanks to the solar panels which had charged batteries throughout the day, Educaid Academy remained a beacon of light and hope, unaffected by the blackout.   In regions where educational development is crucial, ensuring that young minds have access to well-lit learning environments is fundamental. Renewvia's systems are designed to withstand the challenges of remote and unstable grid locations, proving that even in the darkest times, the power to educate and inspire can remain strong.   Thank you to everyone involved in making this project a shining success. Here’s to many more illuminating ventures!   #solarprogress #sdg7 #education #kenya #renewableenergy
