We're excited to share a highlight from our recent collaboration with SteelFab, Inc., where a portion of their carbon credit retirement included Ember Grid Reduction Carbon Credits. These credits were generated by solar projects that are powering houses, NGOs, and businesses in #Chad and #Cameroon, operated by the pioneering utility solar developer, ZIZ Energie. 🌱 The power of this partnership lies in the impact. A report by Power Africa last year shed light on a concerning trend: typically, only 30% of the revenues from carbon asset sales in Africa are returned to the project developers and the communities they serve. However, through the Renewvia Environmental Equity Exchange, we've turned the tide in favor of those who are at the heart of renewable energy efforts. 💡 For ZIZ Energie, this meant an astounding 93% of the revenues from the sale of their carbon assets went straight back into their capable hands. This is not just funding; it's fuel for growth, innovation, and community empowerment. She demonstrated hands-on engineering prowess by assisting with the maintenance of our wind turbine and showed exceptional interpersonal skills while conducting impact interviews with our mini-grid customers. Amanda also brought her software development talents to the forefront, contributing to our blockchain-based carbon asset platform, and she leveraged her communication and strategic thinking in contributing to our corporate pitch decks. ☀ Renewvia Keeps the Lights On at Educaid Academy During Nationwide Blackout 💡 We're thrilled to announce the successful completion of our latest solar installation at Educaid Academy, a dedicated institution striving to enhance educational opportunities for young people in a rural area of Kenya near Mombasa. Our team, including Tobias nyakiya, Paul Odhiambo, and Nicholas Selby, pictured here with some of the academy's staff and students, finalized the project just as the sun was setting. Then, in an extraordinary turn of events, as we commissioned the system, Kenya's national utility company reported a nationwide power outage. However, thanks to the solar panels which had charged batteries throughout the day, Educaid Academy remained a beacon of light and hope, unaffected by the blackout.   In regions where educational development is crucial, ensuring that young minds have access to well-lit learning environments is fundamental. Renewvia's systems are designed to withstand the challenges of remote and unstable grid locations, proving that even in the darkest times, the power to educate and inspire can remain strong.   Thank you to everyone involved in making this project a shining success. 🔗 Productive Use of Energy for Air-to-Water Systems Renewvia is partnering with Kenyan-owned, women-owned, and award-winning start-up MAJIK WATER to bring clean, affordable drinking water to refugees in Kalobeyei Settlement in Turkana, Kenya. Spearheaded by Majik Water's visionary founder, Beth Koigi, this unique collaboration merges Renewvia's solar mini-grid capabilities with Majik Water's innovative air-to-water technology, bringing a sustainable source of clean drinking water to the community, even when boreholes run dry. 🌍 Community First Local residents are at the forefront, operating the systems and managing water sales, ensuring that benefits ripple back into the community from all angles.
