This recognition highlights the impact of our efforts, with around 130 fragrances for Natura containing ingredients sourced from Madagascar. Symrise South Africa B-BBEE Achievement Symrise South Africa received Level 4 contribution to B-BBEE certification. With this, Symrise ZAF received a score of 82.88. A remarkable local achievement as this places the ZA Business within the TOP 30 companies in the country. B-BBEE stands for Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment. This legal framework implemented in South Africa promotes racial inclusiveness and equality in the business. As Symrise strives to build wider cultural diversity globally, this rating shows the progressive and transformative nature of the local market business. The score received was calculated using a scorecard which focused on 5 main objectives. The objectives include: • Ownership • Management Control • Skills Development • Enterprise and Supplier Development • Socio-Economic Development Following this criteria Symrise ZA scored 100% B-BBEE compliancy level. Being 100% B-BBEE compliant in South Africa indicates that the company shows initiative in ensuring that there is fairness, diversity and inclusion in the industry for Black People (This includes Black Africans, Coloureds, Indians and Asian South African citizens) with great emphasis on the women and youth of South Africa that got excluded from such opportunities in the past due to the racial segregation policies of the Apartheid era (Pre 1994) government.
