The Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians recently celebrated the five-year anniversary of owning the Teleli Golf Club in Sonora, California. The anniversary celebration took place on Wednesday, June 26th and included Tribal Elders, members, community representatives, corporate partners, friends, and families. The event began with a Tribal Blessing, followed by an 18-hole, four-player scramble golf tournament, and awards banquet. Located on the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range in the historic gold rush town of Sonora, Teleli Golf Club opened for play in 1990 and was designed by Robert Muir Graves. In 2019, The Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians purchased the property as a resort amenity to the Black Oak Casino as well as an amenity for the community. The name Teleli is from the Me-Wuk language and translates to Black Oak. Since assuming ownership of the course the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians have made numerous improvements to Teleli Golf Club, including full remodels of the golf shop and restaurant, as well as complete renovations of all 52 bunkers on the course. In March 2023, the Tribe hired Indigo Sports, a Troon company, to oversee golf operations, agronomy, and sales and marketing for the daily-fee golf facility. https://lnkd.in/gxbKJCak

We are excited to unveil that we have acquired Lincoln, Nebraska-based CaddieNow, a caddie technology and management company which currently partners with over 50 clubs in 25 states. By adding CaddieNow to its current caddie services division, that includes CADDIEMASTER and ClubUp, Troon can offer private clubs, public courses and resorts a full complement of caddie solutions based on a property’s individual needs. “We are thrilled to welcome CaddieNow into the Troon family of brands,” said Troon President and CEO Tim Schantz. “Whether at private clubs, resorts or daily-fee courses, the demand for caddie programs and caddie program solutions continues to increase. Golf industry service expert Terrance Mohamed career has turned full circle after he was appointed as Al Zorah Golf Club's new golf course superintendent – nine years after he first held the position at the prestigious Middle East venue. Terrance returned to the Ajman club, one of the premier golf and lifestyle destinations in the United Arab Emirates, at the start of June and will work closely alongside Al Zorah’s general manager Phil Henderson and golf operations manager Stephen Payne shaping the Troon experience for members and guests in his new role. The 51-year-old was named as Al Zorah’s first golf course superintendent when the club opened in 2015 and spent three years in the position before moving on to work in various roles in Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam and Mexico.
