Our team gathered from far and wide for our annual summer party last week! ☀️ Our summer shindig kicked off in a burst of colour as we joined the talented team at JOY! COLLECTIVE London for a fun graffiti workshop - a whirlwind of creative, competitive chaos where we were split into three teams to work on large mural pieces, then painted our own canvas to take home! 🎨 And then after a spot of lunch and drinks at the Brewhouse & Kitchen - Hoxton, we danced the night away at Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes 🪩 It's always a special occasion when we can share our excitement and news from the year so far, and catch up with team members we don't see regularly! #SummerParty #TeamEvent #SummerSocial #WorkParty

  • Meet our Latin America Specialist, Richard! 🌟 Richard’s passion for South American literature is what first led him to Latin America. He travelled extensively throughout the region, capturing documentary stills and eventually settling in Nicaragua—a perfect base for his explorations. During his time in Nicaragua, Richard founded the country’s first adventure tour operator. He dedicated his ‘spare’ time to guiding tours, writing guidebooks, and establishing the private wildlife refuge, Lost Canyon Nature Reserve, to protect its tropical ecosystem and an endangered species of iguana. 🦎 Richard is dedicated to sharing his passion with our travellers, and this dedication has earned him Top Travel Specialist status with Condé Nast Traveler! #TravelSpecialist #EmployeeSpotlight #MeetTheTeam #TravelInspiration

  • The latest episode of The World by Wild Frontiers podcast has landed, and this month, we're talking about 'Travelling to Challenging Destinations'. As a company, we are no strangers to exploring countries that raise eyebrows or invite questions... But how do we decide which ones are ethical and safe to arrange trips to, both for our clients and those whose countries we are so fortunate to visit? Join long-time friend of Wild Frontiers, Kate Humble, our founder, Jonny, and Product & Operations Director, Marc, as they share inspiring travel stories and unpick the complexities and nuances of adventure travel. Listen here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eeFBTdTu Also available on Audible, Spotify and Apple Podcasts! Kate's new blog 'Challenging Destinations - To Go or Not To Go?' covers the topic in more personal depth and echoes the sentiment of travel 'as a force for good'. You can read it here: https://lnkd.in/eGq_fc8e We'll wish you all an early happy weekend, as tomorrow we're bringing the whole team together for our annual summer party! 🌞 #NewPodcast #TravelPodcast #TravelInspiration #Podcast #AdventureTravel

Join us in welcoming one of the latest additions to our amazing Ops team: Anthony! 🎉 And what better way to get to know our newest team members than by hearing about how they like to travel, their favourite destinations, and their top travel tips... How do you like to travel? My preferred style of tourism often involves looking for experiences and sites that are off the beaten track, as well as delving into the culture of the place I’m visiting just like the locals do every day — values and approaches that I share with Wild Frontiers. Favourite travel advice? I would say it’s very useful to learn a couple of words from your native language as it’s helpful and fun to learn some new words you can use when visiting a country. Favourite country? It may sound biased, but I would have to say Italy. I grew up in the north, but rediscovering the country as an adult has been eye-opening with its diverse landscapes, fascinating influences from other cultures and immense history. You can go from the snow-covered Dolomites to the caves in sun-soaked Matera, eating diverse dishes and encountering amphitheatres and ancient sites as you go. However, while I have yet to visit Japan, I think this would quickly become my new favourite as I’m captivated by its landscapes, culture and cuisine! Next on the must-see list? Kazakhstan for its wilderness and breathtaking views. I would love to see how a completely different culture experiences everyday life. We're delighted to have you on board, Anthony! 😃 #NewStarter #MeetTheTeam #WelcomeToTheTeam

  • Can you tell we’re a competitive bunch? 😂 Last night, some of the team gathered for a Kubb tournament in sunny Regent’s Park, which came down to a nail-biting, friendship-testing finale. A begrudging congratulations are in order for Product & Operations Director, Marc, and Product Manager, Marianne, who rallied for a last-minute comeback to steal the win 🏆 If you happen to see a sneaky Kubb game make its way into the outstanding itineraries this multi-talented team put together, you’ll know this win completely went to their heads! #TeamSocial #Socials #SummerSocials #TeamBuilding

  • When our Operations Manager, Ruby-Tiger, and our former Africa Travel Expert, Jamie, started their careers at Wild Frontiers, they probably had no idea that the greatest adventure they’d find would be each other… 💌 Seven years ago, Jamie joined our Operations team, and as all great loves start, became fast friends with Ruby who had already been at WF for a year. After Jamie moved into Client Support and eventually the Sales Team, that friendship started to blossom into something more. Fast forward to 2021, they set off to Botswana to work at Great Plains Conservation Safari Camps (suitably wild enough for us to forgive them for leaving us!) They then returned to live and work on her family’s farm at The Tudor Barn, Milden, a gorgeous eco-farm stay that also happens to be a stunning wedding venue. With a few of the WF family in attendance, this beautiful pair finally tied the knot! 💒 Ruby-Tiger still works at WF part-time, while Jamie now sells trips to Africa alongside learning how to farm. To sum it up in this quote by Robert Brault, “What we find in a soulmate is not something wild to tame, but something wild to run with.” Wild Frontiers may be where their love story began, but long may their love run wild and the adventure never end! 💘✨

  • Our founder, Jonny, recently returned to northern Pakistan to explore the foothills of the Hindu Kush, the birthplace of Wild Frontiers. But this trip offered something a little different from his usual ventures there… Jonny caught up with many old friends with whom he’s worked alongside for over twenty years, but with Saifullah (chief spokesman for the Kalash) away, he was thrilled to witness some of their children taking up the Wild Frontiers baton as part of their progressing careers in tourism! The extra wholesome cherry on top? Shakil and Jamil, Saifullah’s youngest sons, were both educated by the Wild Frontiers Foundation! As Nardia, our Head of Sustainable Travel put it, 'It looks like Wild Frontiers clients, both now and in the future, will be in good hands as they explore this inspiring and downright stunning destination!' We hope you love reading Jonny’s blog as much as we did: https://lnkd.in/e7YZXPhZ

  • We are delighted to announce that we have been recognised in the Best Workplaces in Travel awards! 🎉 The pandemic forced us all to reflect on many things, and it was no different for our small travel company. While we have always valued our staff, the global shutdown emphasised just how crucial it is to take care of our most important asset - our people. It started with listening directly to our team about what we are doing well and where we could improve to drive our efforts forward. This marks the third consecutive year that we have entered the awards, and being recognised shows that we are making progress! The results from the survey we sent to the team revealed that we have a happy and proud workforce at Wild Frontiers, scoring highest in how well we work together. 🤝 While we will continue to strive to make Wild Frontiers an even better place to work, we wish to thank our whole team for giving us something else to be immensely proud of…💚
