Creating a community where women and girls—and all people—have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

About us

The Women's Fund of Omaha addresses inequities in our community through collaboration that identifies, researches and creates solutions to advance, educate and fund lasting impact. We are working to create a community where women and girls—and all people—have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Since 1990, the Women's Fund has provided more than $35 million in grants to programs working to address the most crucial issues facing local women and girls as identified by our research. We are the only foundation that provides grants exclusively to programs for anyone who identifies as a woman or girl, and we are the leading organization researching issues concerning them.

Our office will be closed June 24 through July 5. This mid-year pause is not new to us, but it has been extended to allow our team time to rest, rejuvenate and replenish. As part of our strategic planning work and inspired by The Nap Ministry, we recently added the value of rest. We honor that rest is a right and not a privilege or reward; and we believe that rest is a foundation to innovate, restore and reimagine our collective work. We'll be back on July 8 rested, restored and ready to continue to build a new path forward--together.

The primary election in Nebraska is coming up in one week and there's a lot on the ballot. Safe, affordable housing. Access to child care and health care. Freedom to information. The ability to live free from violence. The right to decide if, when and how to become a parent. Put simply—your rights, safety and freedoms are on the ballot. Make your plan now and vote on (or before) May 14! ❤️🤍💙

Another Nebraska Legislative Session has ended. So, what all happened? What bills were passed that will impact gender equity and what bills were stopped? Let’s recap the progress, setbacks and what to look for during the interim: https://lnkd.in/g2hncNZR Let us also share how thankful we are to everyone who contacted their senators, met with policymakers, testified during committee hearings and joined us at the Capitol. There is nothing more powerful than when you use your voice for positive change. 😍
