View Sponsored Messaging ads in Focused Inbox

Focused Inbox consists of a Focused and Other tab. The Focused tab contains your most relevant sponsored messages; the Other tab contains the remainder of your conversations. You can easily move your messages between the two tabs.

To view your Sponsored Messaging ads in Focused Inbox:

  1. Click the Messaging icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage or click the Messaging pane on the lower right of the homepage.

  2. Your Messaging inbox contains a Focused and Other tab. If you don’t see the Focused and Other tabs, you need to turn on Focused Inbox. To turn on Focused Inbox: 

    1. Click the More icon at the top of the Messaging pane and select Manage settings from the dropdown. The Data privacy window opens.  
    2. Scroll to the Messaging experience section and click Focused Inbox.
    3. Turn on the Use Focused Inbox toggle. 
      1. You can opt out of Focused Inbox by turning off the Use Focused Inbox toggle. 
    4. Refresh your Messaging inbox to see the changes.

  3. Click the Focused or Other tab to view a message. 

  4. Hover over the date on the upper-right corner of a message and click the More icon. 

  5. Click Move to Other (when in the Focused tab), Move to Focused (when in the Other tab), Archive, Delete, Mark as unread, or Mute.
