Director of Operations (Pharma)

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Director to lead our Oral Solid Dose (OSD) department, responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality oral solid dose products to the global market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmaceutical operations, with expertise in managing complex manufacturing processes, supply chain, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the OSD department, including strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer demands, and business objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless integration and coordination of operations.
• Manage and optimize the manufacturing process, including batch processing, packaging, and labeling.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure high-quality raw materials and timely delivery of products.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains.
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), and other regulatory requirements.
• Manage quality control processes, including batch testing, stability testing, and release testing.
• Develop and maintain accurate inventory management systems to ensure efficient supply chain management.
• Manage team of operators, engineers, and quality control specialists to achieve operational excellence.
• Ensure timely reporting of production data to senior management and stakeholders.
• Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for deviations, out-of-specification products, or other quality issues.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of successful operation management in OSD manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of cGMP, GMP, and other regulatory requirements.
• Experience with quality control processes, batch processing, packaging, labeling, and inventory management.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify opportunities for improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Knowledge of SAP ERP systems or other manufacturing execution systems.
