LMS Administrator

Gardner-Webb is seeking an LMS Administrator. The LMS Administrator owns the technical and functional administration of the daily operation, maintenance, usage, and analysis of learning management system (Blackboard). Works with IT to meet security standards and maintain Banner and Microsoft functionality within LMS. Works with IT and external service provider (Blackbelt Help) to resolve service requests related to the LMS. Develops and maintains self-paced Blackboard learning tools for faculty and students. Develops and delivers faculty training in Blackboard.

Key Responsibilities

• Manages daily operation of the LMS to provide 99.999999% uptime for faculty and students.
• Updates and improve s knowledge and skills pertaining to the LMS and communicates system configuration changes to leadership, course owners, and end-users.
• Tests all software updates/enhancements to ensure continuity of the system and to prevent negative impact to end users and course owners .
• Integrates, maintains , and supports third party tools into the LMS including Microsoft, publisher, and Kaltura.
• Utilizes reporting systems to generate reports and dashboards creating meaningful insights into the leaning data.
• Develops and maintains self-paced Blackboard learning tools for faculty and students including orientation to Blackboard and on-demand topics .
• Provides 1:1 consulting in building courses and teaching in Blackboard
• Develops and delivers faculty training in Blackboard including new feature highlights at the annual Online Faculty Professional Learning Day
• Participates with LMS user groups to maintain currency and glean useful system enhancements
  
  

Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred; associate degree with three years relevant experience

Experience

2+ years demonstrated experience as an LMS Administrator or LMS Specialist (5+ years preferred)

2+ years demonstrated customer service experience

1+ year technology trainer experience
