The Recruiting Assistant will provide administrative support to the Dallas and Houston Recruiting Managers for the department’s seasonal and on-going efforts. Seasonal efforts include promoting the firm on national law school campuses throughout the year, running all aspects of the Summer Program (internship program for law students, which includes many external and internal events), and hiring law students through on-campus interviews. On-going efforts include hiring practicing lawyers and recent law clerks for our top-tier practice groups, while also serving as an active team member in the legal recruiting and local office communities.


This role reports to the Manager, Recruiting in Dallas.


Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with on-campus interviews, including the preparation of logistics for each law school visit or interview day, candidate vetting, scheduling, and administrative tasks (such as tracking/monitoring interviewer comments and offer letter creation).
  • Assisting with all aspects of the Summer Program, including event planning, budget and calendar maintenance, welcome announcements and tracking/documenting event participation.
  • Assisting, as needed and available, with on-the-ground logistics for Dallas and Houston office attorney-facing and summer associate-facing events.
  • Assisting materials preparation for on-campus programming and events.
  • Coordinating logistics for recruiting-related meetings, trainings, and firm presentations.
  • Navigating our Recruiting software systems to assist with scheduling interviews, solicit interviewer comments, respond to unsolicited applications and store department information.
  • Managing a shared electronic mailbox and shared electronic calendar for the department (both seasonal and annual events).
  • Tracking and processing recruiting expenses using an accounting software system.
  • Responding to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner and serving as a resource for recruiting-related inquires.
  • Interfacing and collaborating with key personnel in Human Resources, Accounting, Diversity & Inclusion, Professional Development, and the firmwide Legal Recruiting Department.
  • Attending Dallas and Houston office committee meetings as needed.
  • Assisting with other projects to contribute to the office/firm as a whole as directed by Recruiting Managers.
  • Attending monthly meetings/events through the local recruiting professionals’ association.

Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 1-2 summers of professional experience through an internship or similar is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including expertise in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $54-61k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
