Responsibilities
Perform assays to characterize vaccine antigens and therapeutics and assess their biological functions.
Perform routine tissue culture, maintaining cell lines needed in the bioassays and other cell biology characterization work.
Support method development and qualification of bioassays.
Contribute to experimental planning; analyze data, communicate results, and present work in team meetings.
Collaborate closely with scientists and engineers to advance novel vaccine and therapeutic candidates from research through Phase I/II clinical trials.
Monitor, acquire and maintain cell culture media, assay reagents, materials & consumables for the team.
Maintain accurate and timely laboratory records and electronic lab notebook entries.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in one of the Biological Life Sciences with at least 3 years of biopharmaceutical industry. experience OR Master’s degree in those fields with 1+ years of industry experience.
Hands-on experience with cell-based assays, immunoassays, tissue culture methods and other biologic characterization techniques, including ELISAs, SDS-PAGE / Western Blotting, Transfection, PCR, Flow Cytometry and Spectroscopy.
Experience working with mRNA and lipid or polymer delivery systems is highly desirable.
Experience working in a GxP environment is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
