Job Description
This employer is seeking a Used Equipment Manager for a progressive Midwestern Farm Equipment dealership located in Indiana whose primary role will be to assist the Wholegoods Manager in driving operational excellence for their Used Equipment Sales Division and associated metrics. The bulk of your time will be spent focusing on data and projecting where the market is heading. This Manager will provide effective methodologies, efficient processes, bring value-added information and tools to increase inventory turn. This role will be servicing all dealership stores. Essential Responsibilities to include:
Developing systems to remain aligned with goals and responsibilities of the Sales Team
Partnering with General Manager and Sales Managers at each location to work together to ensure Used Equipment levels are appropriate based on category and current market conditions
Assisting in developing a plan to continuously review Used Farm Equipment inventory to ensure availability
Working with Sales Team on pre-sale of traded equipment
Developing strong relationships with other dealers, wholesale buyers and auction companies to partner in equipment trades and purchases
Helping to develop the future of how equipment is evaluated
Helping to develop a reconditioning program for Service Managers and Sales Teams to be reviewed quarterly
Qualifications
4-year Technical or Business-related degree
Ag background with knowledge / understanding of Farm Equipment beneficial but not required
Career experience formulating and following a strategic business plan regarding Used Equipment with an eye to the future a MUST
Strong business acumen with Proven Financial Management experience
Data-Driven, Analytical, Problem-Solving personality and skill set
Computer proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong communication skills; ability to train others very beneficial
Willingness to travel to 25% with provided vehicle; some overnight stays with expenses paid
