Pricing is an art, not a science. Recently, I had a post on Threads go semi-viral where I shared my rates as a micro-influencer. It sparked an unexpected wave of comments from people who doubted my rates, asked for receipts, and compared their follower counts to mine, saying they didn't even charge that much. There were comments like: "Simply not true. Nobody would pay you that." "Willing to post your tax returns?" "Get off your high horse, 25k followers are not worth those prices" "Homegirl is probably lying. She sells a program and that's all I needed to know." "I don't know why a brand would even pay you $200" "Her profile said she was a coach, so I immediately knew it was 💩". Being called a liar online, especially when you're transparent about your work, stings. But it also reflects a larger issue in our industry: Many are uneducated about the true value of their influence and are undercharging as a result. It's not just about follower count. Engagement, niche, content quality, authority in your industry, and the strength of your personal brand play crucial roles in determining your pricing. To all the creators out there questioning their rates based solely on follower count – you're more valuable than a number. Take the time to understand your audience and the unique value you bring to brands. Let's uplift each other and recognize the diverse factors contributing to our value. Together, we can shift the conversation from doubt to empowerment. 💪

Creators spend so much time sending copy and paste cold pitches, but not enough time building connections with the PEOPLE at the brands they want to work with. Back in 2022, I sent a LinkedIn message to a Thinkific team member after having been a customer for a while, hosting my courses on their platform. Since then, I’ve made some incredible friendships with this team — even having been invited to speak on a panel representing them at VidCon. Not because I sent them a cold pitch email where I changed a couple sentences and customized it for them but because I spent time, human-to-human, simply making friends. Stop dehumanizing the pitching process. We don’t need to send boring emails. We need to be HUMANS. Last Week’s Actions ↓ 1️⃣ My Soulcial Suite Community Manager, @molliedaniela, and I hosted a free public webinar and were able to convert TWO new members 👯♀️ 2️⃣ I had three connection calls with potential new members who ALL joined the Suite. What I learned? Connection calls are more high converting and less time consuming, HOWEVER I’m seeing a lot of conversions THIS WEEK from people that came to the webinar last week. 👀 Goal Update ↓ We ended the week at 147 members with a goal of 153 by the end of this week. We need SIX new members to hit our goal this month. Can we do it? 😅

This week, I hosted an incredible webinar with Mollie Daniela, my Community Manager at Your Soulcialmate all about how being truly YOU on the internet can be the missing piece to getting more inbound requests for brand partnerships. It always amazes me how truly willing to LEARN creators are. We're hungry to be our best selves! There's always something to learn in our industry — especially since it's still SO NEW! What an honor to be a part of that education!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of being a part of Circle's Creator Catalyst Summit hosted by the incredible Alexis Teichmiller 🎙️ My talk was all about building engagement on your content, and you know what summarizes my entire presentation? Be a friend to your audience. The people that spend time to comment on my content CONSISTENTLY are people that I have also invested time into supporting. People will show up for you when it feels like you're more than just another random person they follow. Put just as much energy into getting to KNOW your followers as you do your content. This is the biggest lesson I've learned as a creator.
