In the end, the others just couldn't deliver what I needed. PIA's services are reliable, convenient, versatile and most of all, secure! I found their network is unmatched for worldwide access.

I've used Nord, Hotspot Shield and ExpressVPN. PIA shines above them all.
PIA has settings to tweak it for any use. I run it on my windows machine, I use it on my various linux based servers. It has split tunneling so even if a specific application wont work on VPN you can let it bypass PIA while everything else still goes through the virtualized connection.

I purchased a PIA VPN subscription for three years in Sep 2022. Initially, the service worked fine. However, recently a certain VPN server connected to another country which it shouldn't be so that I cannot use that online video streaming service anymore. Tried to contact customer service and the just silenced my email. Unfortunately, I cannot request refund even though their servers are being unreliable and customer service seems not exist. In their T&C, they said "Requests made after the 30-day purchase date window will be denied." I am really disappointed.

My dedicated IP address was blocked by certain websites like reddit immediately after purchase however the normal VPN address worked. You will need to switch between dedicated and regular to get access depending on what sites you go to. The regular VPN does work for most websites. The split tunnel feature is really nice to have.

From 4 years now of using PIA, it's definitely been a great experience.
Customer Experience:
Over the years more servers have become available closer to my location. Which gives me both more options of lower latency, as well as more options in general for my country.
Unfortunately as with every VPN the bad experience comes from other services taking measures to block VPN connections. (Microsoft account management specifically) Adding the Fixed IP might help get around this problem, but it does add a decent extra cost to the service.
App design:
The UI has been very clear without any hurdles to jump through when finding a setting to change.
It's been designed in a way that doesn't feel dated, and isn't over the top.
The small window that docks to the taskbar is much nicer and doesn't get in the way when I need a quick change of server. Plus it works perfectly (I use arch by the way) through my windows, linux, and mac devices.
Cost:
It definitely feels like the most bang for the buck compared to other services, without trying to bundle loads of other features along. IT is just an honest pure VPN service.
The additional Fixed IP service does add a considerable amount on to of the subscription, which has made it a bit hard for me to go for it.
TLDR:
Good long term service with additional features/servers popping up all the time.
Other services still block VPNs. (not PIAs fault)
Good UI Design.
Reasonable pricing for what you get. Unless you absolutely need a fixed IP, then will be a bit costly.

I purchased a PIA VPN subscription for three years. Initially, the service worked fine for the first three months. However, streaming sites eventually blocked the IP addresses of their servers. Upon contacting customer service, I discovered that each server only has a single IP address. Typically, a VPN should have multiple IP addresses to avoid such blocks, but PIA VPN has very few. Therefore, I recommend against purchasing their service.

The short review: Just buy it.
The longer review: I have used PIA for +5 years now roughly. It has been the best investment in online privacy I have ever made. Furthermore, from time to time, I find myself connected to a public wifi that blocks all sorts of services, and by using a combination of the options in the "multi-hop" area of the settings I haven't found a blocked port/service that I couldn't bypass. PIA is hands down the best and fastest VPN around. Also great for avoiding those pesky emails from your ISP about your file-sharing habits

PIA is a means of filtering out unwanted advertising and promotion and maintaining privacy at a time when corporations appear desperate to secure as much personal information as they possible can. The product integrates pretty seamlessly and I would award it 5 stars were it not for the fact that on start up from sleep mode, sometimes when PIA opens it cuts of my connection to the internet which means that I lose time reconnecting. Sometimes it is easy other times it can take a while. Nevertheless, it is a small price to pay for stopping a perpetual bombardment of promotional rubbish. I have been with PIA for four years and have no plan to change.

Hands down, best VPN out there. All the features that actually matter at a price no one could argue with. For me personally, nothing but fast and stable for years now since I started using PIA. I switched to PIA from AdGuard and honestly the more I use PIA VPN on my iPhone/iPad the more I like it. I use the IKEv2 protocol because it works with Adguard Pro (DNS filtering) which was my requirement when looking for a VPN service on Apple devices, you know VPN restrictions on iOS/iPadOS. I didn't want to resign on Adguard's DNS filtering. PIA meets it to my complete satisfaction. The automatic on/off of the VPN according to the set rules (exclusions) works flawlessly. Switching from cellular to WiFi and back is seamless. PIA is a simple but powerful VPN tool and most importantly it is not overloaded with many features. It focuses on what it's supposed to and that's perfect. I hate VPN apps packed with too many features which they are mostly all useless. Good job guys and keep it as simple as it is!
