Check out the The Santa Fe New Mexican for a great story on New Mexico's commitment to the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic model. We're grateful to be one of the 6 provisionally certified providers to launch these services in Santa Fe alongside the work we're also doing in Gallup to set up a CCBHC for McKinley County. https://lnkd.in/gwrkemAQ

In an interview with NewsNation, our Chief Medical Officer James Besante, MD comments on Medetomidine, the latest synthetic drug used as an animal tranquilizer that has been found alongside fentanyl. While many people are referring to Medetomidine as another "Zombie" drug, Dr. Bestante cautions people to be mindful of the language they use. “These are individuals with lives with families. Many of the clients I treat on a daily basis are incredible people. This drug does not make them ‘zombies.’ They’re humans experiencing a chronic disease, and this drug might impact their ability to communicate effectively when they’re intoxicated,” Besante said. https://lnkd.in/gcayvYab

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! This month serves as a reminder to break the stigma surrounding mental health issues, encouraging open conversations, empathy, and support for those struggling. It's a time to educate ourselves and others, fostering understanding and compassion. In a world where the pressures of everyday life can sometimes feel overwhelming, let's remember that it's okay to not be okay, and seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Whether it's reaching out to a friend, family member, or professional, there is always support available. Together, let's spread awareness, break down barriers, and create a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone's mental health journey. 💚 #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #BreakTheStigma
