An Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the costs and materials needed for commercial door and hardware projects. This role requires extensive knowledge of Avaware, Doors and Hardware, Comsense, Division 8, and other related software. The ideal candidate should have experience working with companies such as Cook and Boardman, DH Pace, McCarthy, Consort Architectural Hardware, and others.
Key Responsibilities
Utilize software such as Avaware, e/PWS, Comsense or others to accurately estimate project costs and materials
Work closely with the Detailer to review and confirm project plans and specifications
Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure projects are completed within budget and on time
Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials
Provide timely and accurate bids for new projects, including change orders and revisions
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in building codes and regulations related to doors and hardware
Qualifications
Previous experience as an Estimator in the commercial door and hardware industry
Strong understanding of hardware and materials used in commercial door projects
Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret project plans and specifications
Experience working with vendors such as Assa Abloy - Curries, Assa Abloy - Frameworks, Steelcraft
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Knowledge of building codes and regulations related to doors and hardware
