For 3 years, the Affordable Connectivity Program kept more than 20 million households connected to the internet. Now, the ACP is out of funding and millions of people, particularly people in marginalized communities, are left without affordable internet access. Congress can act now to ensure no household is shut out of the online world.

As I understand it, the Senate passed a bipartisan bill extending the ACP, and a bipartisan bill was agreed upon in the house, but for some reason Mike Johnson won't bring it up for a vote. Why? Let's see. The Ds and Rs worked out a draconian bipartisan Immigration bill giving the Rs all of what they wanted, but Donald Trump ordered his toadys not to pass it because he was running in immigration, so the bill was scrapped, and more misery will ensue for Trumps benefit. The 23 million Americans that use and need the ACP are not rich people and most likely vote Democrat. It would be reasonable in our current political environment to theorize that Trump does not want the ACP extension to pass because it will make probably 23 million democrat families miserable so Trump can blame Biden. So he orders his toady Johnson to not bring it to the floor for a vote. Just sayin.... 🤔

It is critical that we do not continue to widen the digital divide. This will have irreversible consequences for the underrepresented communities impacted.
