Something no one has ever seen before: The world's first net-zero industrial laundry plant, Big Blue I, is in the making, and it's a game-changer. Located just outside Swindon, UK, this project is a testament to the power of innovation and sustainability. Big Blue I boasts some impressive features, including one of the world's largest washing machines, the biggest heat pump tumble dryers, and novel water reclamation systems. It's exciting to see these components come together to create a plant that will revolutionise the laundry industry. With true planet positive process at its core, Big Blue I is a shining example of how businesses can take the lead in reducing our carbon footprint, even at the gigabit scale. The project is a source of inspiration for anyone who wants to make a positive impact on the environment and if you’d like to come visit please let me know so we can add you to our grand opening invite list. Stay tuned for updates on this groundbreaking project. Big things are happening, and we can't wait to share them with you 🫧

So what will be projected the cost per 1000kg of linen process compared to a non"zero" plant. Equipment is way more expensive and the build out too! Will this plant serve public facilities (ie hotels etc ) where cost per kg must be competitive or close loop (ie hospital system) where costs are internal?
Would love to know what water reclamation system you are using. We are similar to you with our off grid, mobile, circular wash systems for reusable tableware.
Not your sector Louis Gore-Langton, but yet another example of net-zero innovation which industry dinosaurs failed to see coming.
Kyle C Grant very interesting indeed. No reason that this industry cannot aspire to greater ideals like this. Everything you mention makes sense and even if the goal of net zero is held up to challenge, I’m sure that this facility will be heading towards best in class. I’d love to understand how you are going to manage your internal logistics to minimise re-work ensuring that energy used per kg of linen is kept to its minimum.
Love the Net Zero aspect. Who know industrial laundry contributed so much CO2.
Excellent work, will love to see videos from the grand opening
Great work laundry and decon is so ripe for change. Would love to see the life cycle carbon calcs, so much learning that can speed the whole sector 👌
