Today on #Juneteenth, we pay tribute to the Negro Leagues and three players of the San Diego Tigers, who played a half season at Lane Field in 1946. The Tigers' catcher was Ted Gabe. Later that year, the players went on to barnstorm after the league folded. In 1947, the Tigers were joined by famous Padre, Johnny Ritchey, and 2008 Padres MLB Negro Leagues draftee, Walter McCoy.
