IFC is supporting sustainable sourcing with Natura in the #Amazon! 🌿 We are anchoring and investing in Natura’s Sustainability-Linked Bond (SLB), which represents the first of its kind with performance targets linked to Amazon sourcing in #Brazil. This innovative initiative is set to promote sustainable sourcing practices while helping protect and regenerate the Amazon Forest. As the anchor investor of this issuance, IFC has not only provided a BRL 300 million investment, but also helped Natura mobilize additional funds to reinforce investments in the Amazon. This will help promote the bioeconomy in the forest, contribute to boost local economy and communities and support agroforestry sustainable supply chains in the country. We just issued our second benchmark bond of our new July to June fiscal year, a 500 million 5-year British pound sterling bond due October 2029. The trade was robust and attracted orders in excess of £540 million from a diverse global investor base. It also achieved the tightest spread to Gilts that we’ve achieved so far for a 5-year British pound sterling benchmark. Proceeds from our bonds provide essential financing for private businesses in emerging markets, helping to create jobs, alleviate poverty, and drive inclusive and sustainable economic growth. We just issued a new US dollar global benchmark bond, raising $2 billion to support private businesses in developing countries. Support for IFC - International Finance Corporation's new five-year benchmark was strong and the trade attracted orders over $2.79 billion. 🎓🌟Hats off to the 14 new graduates from the third cohort of the IFC - International Finance Corporation – Université Paris Dauphine - PSL - Paris Europlace Executive Masters’ Capital Markets Program! This group of capital markets regulators and financial professionals, coming from 8 countries of Africa and Haiti, celebrated their graduation with a ceremony held this week in Paris. Founded in 2021, the program is building a critical mass of highly skilled francophone capital market practitioners, with a strong focus on green and sustainable finance. The graduates are now part of a global network of over 270 alumni from 64 countries. They will help modernize financial systems and develop local capital markets in French-speaking emerging economies. Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, an important holiday in the US that marks the emancipation of the last enslaved African Americans in Texas on June 19, 1865. This day is an opportunity to reflect on the history of slavery and the ongoing struggle for racial equality. Juneteenth reminds me of the US’s progress towards freedom and equality, as well as the work that remains to be done to deepen diversity and inclusion. As we honor Juneteenth, each one of us has a role to play to help foster a culture of inclusion, understanding and respect within our workplaces and communities. I’m proud to work at IFC - International Finance Corporation, where diversity and inclusion are celebrated, and every voice is heard.
