When you make annual gifts to SPJ and SPJ Foundation programs totaling $100 or more, you will be included as a member of the Sigma Delta Chi Society, which reflects our original name when we were founded in 1909 at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. This is our way of honoring our most generous supporters.
Society of Professional Journalists Foundation
Donations to the Society of Professional Journalists Foundation (formerly Sigma Delta Chi Foundation) support training and education for journalists and awards grants to the journalism community. In addition, you may designate support for the Freelance Fund or the Ukraine Journalists Fund. The Foundation is a 501(c)3 charity and gifts are tax deductible. Learn more
Legal Defense Fund
The Society of Professional Journalists collects and distributes contributions for aiding journalists in defending the freedom of speech and press guaranteed by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. Learn more
