Noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Rebroadcast at 7 p.m.
Hosted by Mikaela Lefrak, Vermont Edition convenes conversations and shares stories about the communities in our region. Whether you’re a local leader, a lifelong Vermonter or a brand new listener, this is your show.
Here's what we're discussing this week.
- Monday, July 8: We kick off a week of coverage of the one-year anniversary of the summer 2023 floods. How do you look back on the floods, one year later? Write down your story or record your thoughts in a voice memo and email them to vermontedition@vermontpublic.org.
- Tuesday, July 9: The lasting effects of the flooding on Vermont's agriculture industry. Guests include: UVM's Heather Darby, NOFA-VT's Grace Oedel, leaders of the Intervale Community Farm, and family farmers from across the state.
- Wednesday, July 10: A live show from Johnson, which is still rebuilding from the flooding.
- Thursday, July 11: What happens next? Today, we look to the future. We'll talk with the state's hazard mitigation officer about the home buyout program, the Nature Conservancy's Shayne Jaquith about watershed restoration, and Rev. Joan Javier-Duval of the Unitarian Church of Montpelier about the spiritual reckoning brought on by the floods.
