The arrival of a new month means it is time for the countdown to begin.

Ontario’s motorsports community is getting ready for the only Super DIRTcar Big Block Modified tour stop in the province – Wednesday, July 24th – at Brockville Ontario Speedway. With a $7500 payday waiting for the winner, the Canadian Classic is one of the most anticipated dated on the track’s 2024 schedule.

The top runners in the business returned to ‘The BOS’ last year for the first time since 2019, when the track hosted the Big Blocks as part of the Northeast Fall Nationals. Tim Fuller – who earlier in his career was a weekly runner at the Temperance Lake Road facility – picked-up the race win, over Matt Shepherd and Mat Williamson. Peter Britten and Jimmy Phelps completed the top 5. Tristan Draper was the top finishing home track regular, with an 11th place showing. 20 of the 27-car starting field finished on the lead lap.

Also on the line-up for this mid-summer spectacular will be the DIRTcar Sportsman-Modifieds and the travelling NLMA Late Model Series. Bobby Herrington scored the win over Jessica Power, Shane Stearns, Fire Swamp and Domonick Merkley in the last year’s 25-lap Sportsman main event, while Adam Turner, Nathan Rinaldi, Steve Baldwin, Charlie Sandercock and Ryan Lambert were the top-5 finishers in the Late Model feature.

“Our team is excited to be hosting the only Super DIRTcar Big Block tour stop in the province again this year,” said track owner Paul Kirkland, who’s family has operated and promoted Brockville Ontario Speedway for 30 straight seasons. “We’re putting in some long hours to give this show the attention that it deserves. Its going to be an amazing event and we can’t wait to throw the green flag.”
