Your Comfort in Our Hands
About us
Hospice is a type of care and a philosophy of care that focuses on the palliation of a terminally ill patient’s symptoms. These symptoms can be physical, emotional, spiritual or social in nature. Hospice care is provided to people that have a limited life expectancy and choose comfort and relief from pain and other symptoms. From its inception, the mission of Holisticare Hospice has been to ensure that end-of-life care envelops the patient, their caregivers, and their families with spiritual and physical comfort. Forgoing curative treatment and opting for a palliative approach allows hospice care to be provided where the patient lives, surrounded by family and friends with the support of experienced healthcare professionals.

With summer, comes many festivities. One of the big festive traditions in July we celebrate by shooting off fireworks. We want to share a few tips with you to help keep you and your loved ones safe. Firework Safety TIPS 1. Read and follow the directions. 2. Keep a bucket of water or hose close by. 3. A responsible adult should supervise all fireworks activities. 4. Only have one person shoot the fireworks. 5. Use eye protection when shooting fireworks. 6. Never point or throw fireworks at anyone. 7. Do not handle or relight a dud firework. Wait 30 minutes, soak them in water, and dispose of them properly.

Our Wayne team took part in a VA event on June 22nd to support Veterans in the community and help connect them with services. A total of 81 Veterans attended the event and had a great time. Holisticare Hospice sponsored a bouncy house for the children, and we were grateful to have Anderson Elder Law, one of our community partners, join us. #CommunityEvent #Veterans #OurCareFamily

Yesterday, a beautiful memorial service was held for the residents and staff at the Southeastern Vet Center. Our music therapy intern, Kara, along with our community liaisons, Wendy and Karen, presented a heartfelt program featuring music, poetry, and open discussion to honor those we were remembering. Names were written on paper butterflies and flowers and displayed on the wall, creating a lasting tribute for everyone to see and remember as they passed by them each day. #CommunitySupport #MemorialService #Remember #OurCareFamily
