How do I make my online order tax exempt?

 

To purchase online as tax exempt, you must be approved for Tax Exempt Status. If you haven't been approved, you will not be able to purchase as tax exempt.

— If your Membership is registered as Tax Exempt, you can select Tax Exempt items during checkout:

  1. As you begin checkout, you'll be prompted to sign in if you haven't already

  2. Each item in your cart will show a Tax Exempt check box

  3. Select or mark all Tax Exempt items

  4. A Tax Exempt Certification box will appear

  5. Select "Agree" and finish placing your order.

    • Everyone on a Tax Exempt Membership can purchase as tax exempt unless the Primary Member has requested that an Add-on not be able to purchase tax exempt.

    • If you have questions about item limits and/or restrictions, check with your state's branch of the IRS.
