Nicole Reed is a Michigan Reconnect Navigator Lead for Southeast Michigan and advises Reconnectors who have applied to Washtenaw Community College. Prior to coming to MI Reconnect, Nicole has held professional roles within higher education in areas of recruitment and admissions, student center operations, student leadership and engagement, as well as academic advising and career development. Nicole holds certifications as a Global Career Development Facilitator and a Strong Interest Inventory practitioner.

Working with adult learners is a passion of Nicole’s. Collaboratively, she supports students to identify goals, create a plan, and navigate barriers that may appear along the way. She looks forward to continuing to encourage college-going students and promoting the importance of community college and trade academies. Motivating and leading others serve as important personal values, and Nicole is excited to work with Reconnect Navigators who positively impact the educational experience for Reconnectors.

As a first-generation college student, Nicole is a double Western Michigan University alumna, having earned a bachelor's degree in Organizational Communication and a master's degree in Educational Leadership with a Higher Education and Student Affairs concentration. Nicole currently calls Kalamazoo home with her partner and their chocolate lab, CoCo. In her free time, you can find her enjoying all that Pure Michigan has to offer, spending time with family and friends, and dreaming about the next adventure coming her way.
