90 years ago, Hendrik Meijer opened our very first store in Greenville, Michigan, with his wife Gezina and their children, Johanna and Fred. Today, we remain focused on their legacy of serving our customers, creating a culture of dignity and respect, and investing in the communities we serve. With record-breaking attendance and volunteers, we achieved our biggest goal yet, raising $2 million for the Meijer Simply Give hunger relief program, which helps stock the shelves of hundreds of food pantries across the Midwest. Kicking off the 10th Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give, we were pleased to welcome many of our community partners to our 3rd Annual DEI Community Luncheon for an afternoon of great food, learning and networking. The event featured a wide variety of local food vendors and opportunities for attendees to learn more about our Supplier Inclusion program, including a lively panel with three successful entrepreneurs who have their products on Meijer shelves – The Only Bean, Mr. Leslies Cheesecakes, and Lola's Fine Hot Sauce – all year long.
