🌾 Dhun - Inspiring the Future of ULI India 🌟 In January 2024, a group of 10 YLG members from ULI India had the opportunity to visit Dhun.life, Jaipur, hosted by Mr.Manvendra Singh Shekhawat. Dhun's focus on empowering individuals through redesigned systems resonated with the YLG, sparking fruitful discussions on how these concepts can be applied to ULI India's future endeavors. The visit provided a valuable glimpse into Dhun's innovative "sandbox practice" - a model of community living that prioritizes nature and fosters creativity. This exposure to progressive urban design in India proved highly insightful for the members. A special thanks to Aastha Johri for her contribution to a successful visit. This experience served as more than just a trip; it unlocked the YLG's potential to contribute meaningfully to ULI India's vision for a future-ready India. Last week marked the 8th session in our Unfiltered series, featuring senior leadership from CapitaLand hosted at The Quorum in Mumbai. The session included an insightful dialogue with Ley Hoon QUAH, Group Chief Corporate Officer, CapitaLand Investment (CLI) and Sanjeev Dasgupta, Executive Director and CEO, CapitaLand Investment India. They shared their perspectives on global investment strategies, emerging asset classes, and their views on India’s growth. Ley Hoon, with her diverse leadership experience across public services, media, and shipping prior to CLI, discussed how these transitions shaped her professional journey. She highlighted strategies that not only facilitated her learning but also helped her excel in her role, emphasizing the importance of team building and developing expertise. Sanjeev, who has nearly three decades of industry experience, detailed his career progression from corporate finance and M&A to real estate, eventually leading to his role - spearheading Asia’s first, India-focused property trust listed in Singapore. For many years, India’s real estate markets languished in the shadow of a booming Mainland China, with investors flocking there to buy real estate and tap into emerging demand. More recently, as China has struggled to mediate structural oversupply in real assets, investment flows are moving increasingly in a southerly direction.
